3’s A Magic Number

School was a field of landmines for me. Some of the things that held me back were misunderstood and undiagnosed in the 1970’s.  A teeny Catholic school where two grades shared one classroom and one teacher, wouldn’t have been equipped to attend to such needs anyway.

But there was always hope for the new year.

This dress represents the feeling of the first day back at school.  The unbridled optimism that classmates would be kinder and schoolwork would land lightly and easily.  Lovely is the feeling of crisp new folders and a box of 24 crayons that were so beautifully unbroken.
