In Chaos Theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which one small change to those conditions can result in large differences later on.

I have a hard time pinpointing the exact nudge that sent me in a direction to thrive. I was an emotionally starved child navigating alone a very hostile world.  Many years later I am left unable to explain how it is that I survived and came to live surrounded by so much love in my adult life. 

It humbles me to believe that possibly one, small, unremarkable gesture somewhere in my childhood, changed my trajectory and bloomed into the big, positive, beautiful changes that would mark adulthood.
